Emergency First Aid at Work HSE - Appointed Person in Kendal, Cumbria
Emergency First Aid at Work training courses are for Appointed Persons and are Health and Safety Executive approved courses. This is the minimum level of First Aid training for the workplace, appropriate for low-risk environments or for those acting in the absence of a fully qualified First Aider.
British Red Cross Emergency First Aid at Work Training
All public Emergency First Aid at Work training courses listed on this website are delivered by the British Red Cross. The Emergency First Aid at Work course is approved by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
Attendees will learn
To be able to provide basic life support delegates will receive training in a range of Appointed Person First Aid subjects, including:
- Aims and Principles of First Aid
- Action at an Emergency
- Basic Life Support
- Management of the Unconscious Casualty
- Assessment and treatment of a casualty who is wounded, bleeding or shocked
- Assessment and treatment of fractures, dislocations and soft tissue injuries
- Assessment and treatment of burns

Please ensure all delegates are free of any condition that will prohibit them from participating fully during the practical aspects of the course
Course duration
One Day
Qualification and certification
On completion of this basic life support course, delegates will receive a First Aid certificate of attendance to the standard of Emergency First Aid at Work for Appointed Person. Certificates are issued by the British Red Cross a couple of weeks after the completion date of the course.
Certificate renewal
If you wish to renew your Emergency First Aid at Work certificate you will need to resit the course every three years.

On-Site Emergency First Aid at Work Training
If you have a group of individuals requiring the one day Emergency First Aid at Work training, we can arrange to deliver the course on-site or at you premises. The maximum number of delegate per instructor is twelve, however if you have more delegates requiring the trainingand your venue is suitable we can provide additional instructors on the same day, alternatively at a later date.
