Emergency First Aid at Work HSE - Appointed Person

Emergency First Aid at Work training courses are for Appointed Persons and are Health & Safety Executive approved courses. This is the minimum level of First Aid training for the workplace, appropriate for low-risk environments or for those acting in the absence of a fully qualified First Aider.

Emergency First Aid at Work Courses Content

To be able to provide basic life support delegates will receive training in a range of Appointed Person First Aid subjects, including:

• Aims and Principles of First Aid
• Action at an Emergency
• Basic Life Support
• Management of the Unconscious Casualty
• Assessment and treatment of a casualty who is wounded, bleeding or shocked
• Assessment and treatment of fractures, dislocations and soft tissue injuries
• Assessment and treatment of burns

Important Information

• Please ensure all delegates are free of any condition that will prohibit them from participating fully during the practical aspects of the Appointed Person first aid course.

Emergency First Aid at Work Training Course Outcome

On completion of this basic life support course, delegates will receive a First Aid certificate of attendance to the standard of Emergency First Aid for Appointed Person. Appointed Person Certificates are issued approximately 2 - 4 weeks after the completion date of the course.

Please note: Appointed Person first aid courses booked on weekends, which commence on the following Monday morning can not be processed due to office working hours. Appointed Person courses booked after 5:00pm on an evening prior to the commencement date of the course can not be processed due to working hours.
