CDM Coordinator Training

CDM Coordinator training course is targeted predominantly at those who practice presently as Planning Supervisors and wish to continue their careers as CDM Coordinators. The CDM training course also offers a good awareness of responsibilities for clients, designers, contractors.

The CDM Coordinator training course primarily addresses the roles and responsibilities of CDM Coordinator (formerly Planning Supervisor) as required by the CDM Regulations 2007 in particular the duty to liaise, communicate, cooperate and coordinate with Designers, Principal Contractors and others on behalf of the client. It also serves as an awareness for Clients, Contractors and Designers. Practical and theoretical experience in techniques under the CDM Regulations is gained. The CDM Coordinator certificate can be used as a mark of evidence as requested by the ACoP.

CDM Coordinator Training Learning Outcomes

At the end of the CDM Coordinator training course, delegates will be able to:

  • Appreciate the significance of competence and adequacy of resourcing issues.
  • Identify with the procedures for co-ordination, co-operation and communication.
  • Understand the main requirements of the CDM Regulations as they apply to designers, clients, coordinators and contractors.
  • Determine the content and examine critically the component parts of a safety plan.
  • Understand the co-ordination required in the design process, in particular design inherent safety.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of risk assessment as it applies to construction, particularly within the role of designer and to be able to coordinate and assess risk assessments provided by others.
  • Understand the content required and function of the health & safety file.
  • Provide advice to clients on their legal duties and enable them to discharge such duty.
  • Understand the scope of project in relation to the two stage test.
