First Aid for Child Carers

Recognised by the National Child Minders Association (NCMA) and Pre-School Learning Alliance (PLA). This course is suitable for members of the above organisations, and those requiring a detailed knowledge of First Aid for young children combined with Appointed Person requirements. This course can also be run for members of other groups or the public.

• Please ensure all delegates are free of any condition that will prohibit them from participating fully during the practical aspects of the course.
• The certification achieved at the end of the course is valid for three years. Re-certification is achieved by repeating the course in three years time.

• Dealing with blood loss and shock
• Burns and scalds
• Causes of unconsciousness
• Electric Shock
• Foreign objects
• Recognition and management of fractures
• Administration of medication
• Recognition of infectious diseases and minor illnesses
• Recording and reporting – NCMA/ PLA & HSE
