Introduction: This is a basic course, which complements the CIEH Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace. It seeks to provide both employees and managers with basic knowledge about occupational stress and how it can be managed.
Suitable for: All employees.
Course objectives
By the end of the training delegates will know the basic sources and causes of work-related stress, the range of symptoms and effects that it can cause and the controls that can be developed for work-related stressors.
Duration: Half day (minimum 4 hours)
Exam Format:
No formal format. Course appraisal forms will be issued, and managers are advised to supervise employees following the training
Course Content
- Legal issues surrounding occupational stress.
- Definition of stress and occupational stress.
- Identification of common workplace stressors.
- Symptoms and health effects of stress.
- Basic controls that can be used to control work-related stressors.
