Who the Course is For
This course is targeted predominantly at those who practice presently as Planning Supervisors and wish to continue their careers as CDM Coordinators. The course also offers a good awareness of responsibilities for clients, designers, contractors.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, delegates will be able to:
- Appreciate the significance of competence and adequacy of resourcing issues.
- Identify with the procedures for co-ordination, co-operation and communication.
- Understand the main requirements of the CDM regulations as they apply to designers, clients, coordinators and contractors.
- Determine the content and examine critically the component parts of a safety plan.
- Understand the co-ordination required in the design process, in particular design inherent safety.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of risk assessment as it applies to construction, particularly within the role of designer and to be able to coordinate and assess risk assessments provided by others.
- Understand the content required and function of the health & safety file.
- Provide advice to clients on their legal duties and enable them to discharge such duty.
- Understand the scope of project in relation to the two stage test.
