Health and Safety Consultants

If you run a business, regardless of what type of business it is, then you know that you have a certain obligation to operate a safe workplace for the people that you employ. Depending on the business, the responsibilities for this can be extraordinarily light or extraordinarily burdensome. In cases, where safety is of extreme importance, you might want to consider the services of independent health and safety consultants.

There are two important facets when considering the safety and the health of your employees as it relates to the workplace. The first consideration that you should make is for the welfare of the people that work at your business. While this should certainly be first and foremost in the minds of business management or a business owner, it is at times overlooked and it is the reason why employees are forced to work in an unhealthy or dangerous work environment, whether that is in an office building or construction site.

The next reason that a business owner or business manager should seriously consider the health and safety issues of their workplace is because it would be criminal to do any less. There are various rules, regulations, laws and statutes in place that place the onus of having a safe and healthy workplace as a responsibility of the businesses management or owner.

For all these reasons mentioned above, safety consultants are important aspect of ensuring that your business is compliant with health and safety regulations, and to ensure that your employees have a safe environment in which to perform their jobs. By allowing independent health and safety consultants to assess your businesses health and safety issues, it will allow you to better understand what is working and what isn’t. It will also allow you to have an outside source to recommend the most effective way to implement changes, as it relates to health and safety issues.

You don’t want to be on the other side of the coin when it comes to health and safety issues in the workplace. As a business manager or business owner, you have a responsibility to ensure that the workplace is a safe as you can possibly make it. Doing so will allow your employees to work safely and be as productive as possible. Not doing so can lead to a great deal of trouble for your employees and for your business. Consider using outside health and safety consultants to ensure that your business is a safe place to work at.

Day 1 – SafetyTrainingCourses.com.au (STCA – Australia)

A fantastic first day for our Australia based OHS training operation. We officially started trading on Monday 6th February yet we really only started getting our hands dirty on Tuesday morning. STCA Director Alex Hill and colleague Michael Cutler hit the phones hard in Melbourne for most of the day with a view to approaching Aussie providers for the very first time.

1st Day Feedback From Alex and Michael

After a day on the phones Alex and Michael had some very positive feedback saying “we received a warm welcome from most OSH training providers which is unusual considering we were cold calling. It is almost as though the Australian marketplace has been expecting a successful training management organization such as STCA to break into their marketplace. We are very surprised no-one has established a similar business model in this vibrant and growing market. After a short pitch over the telephone training companies grasped our business concept almost instantly and are subsequently in the second stages of considering our proposal which is fantastic!.. we’re very excited!”

Google.com.au Search Results

As one would expect we have researched Australian health and safety training related keywords and search terms prior to launching the STCA website. There are many similarities in how Australians and the British search for health and safety training courses, however there were some surprising differences and additional keywords and phrases used.. our research has paid off.

Within two weeks of site launch we have already gained several first page Google listings and in some cases 1st position, these listings are already driving targeted traffic to our new website.. all we need now is more classroom based courses and we’ll soon see some very exciting results.

Conclusion

The day concluded very positively and left an air of excitement for all involved in our new venture. Roll on tomorrow!!

Envico Website Enhancement & Top 3 Providers In January 2012

Later in 2012 we will be enhancing our website with a complex training provider rating system with a view to providing our ‘Top Rated Providers’ with free premium listings on the Envico website. Top rated training provider status will be achievable by all training providers advertising courses on the Envico website, however the achievement of this status will be largely determined by our customers, by providing the highest quality courses in addition to a number of other important key elements.

We’ve created a ‘secret recipe’ so we’re going to keep the details quiet – our competitors can’t copy what they can’t see!

What Is The Benefit To Providers

We’re not asking anyone to jump through hoops, in fact quite the opposite, providers don’t need to do anything differently, our systems will do all of the work. It will provide valuable feedback to training providers and hi-light or suggest areas within their courses and business which could be improved and it’s up to the provider if they want to make changes. The benefit to achieving this status on our website is the provision of ‘Priority Listings’ on our website which will appear aesthetically different to Non-Top Rated Providers and different in where their courses appear in the search results. Top rated providers will receive better course navigation and much more.

Although our systems are not yet fully developed we thought we would start publishing our current three top rated training providers which is currently based on revenue generated, number of course bookings in addition to other factors. Congratulations to the following training providers which are in order of rating:

  1. Phoenix HSC
  2. ATC Risk
  3. Risk & Safety Management
Phoenix were a clear winner in January after pipping ATC Risk at the post. ATC Risk followed closely, February could see ATC Risk at the top of the board.

Envico Update > Record January 2012 & SEO Boom!

January has been a very busy month here at Envico. With only four working days left this month it looks like we’re going to have another all-time-record January. We are not just talking about a minor improvement on January 2011, we’re talking about a complete and utter blitz!

Where’s the Proof?

The proof is in our bookings and in our search engine positions. Conduct searches on Google for extremely competitive phrases such as first aid, health and safety training, NEBOSH, NEBOSH training, IOSH, IOSH courses, IOSH managing safely, NEBOSH general certificate, NEBOSH certificate, CCNSG.. the list is huge. You can now search for almost any health and safety course and any safety training sector we sell and find us on the first page of Google.. now that’s impressive.. and we’ve very happy about it!

What Is The Secret?

There is no secret to our continued growth, it’s a result of on-going competitor analysis and focussing on website positioning on major search engines and having the skills in place to achieve our goals.

During December 2011 Envico’s Managing Director Drew Mitchell decided to take the bull by the horns by bringing its website search engine optimization (SEO) in-house. Drew already had a wealth of experience in SEO, however he decided to take it to the next level in 2012.

Since December Drew has managed to gain more first page Google listings than outsourcing SEO has ever achieved for Envico and he’s done it in just six weeks. These positions are not only permanent first page listings using the latest white-hat SEO techniques, many listings in the ‘top 5′ and in some cases 1st position.

Drew Mitchell Comments

“Our monthly website traffic has doubled compared to the last half of 2011, this is not due to the first quarter madness we experience every year but it is a direct result of top Google positions on keywords and search phrases we did not have last year. Our pay-per-click (PPC) advertising spend has halved, our website traffic is higher than ever and our profits are up considerably.. we have a highly effective and profitable marketing strategy for 2012 and a lean business model which has been refined over several years”.

What Does 2012 Hold For Envico?

From the above you can see that we’re confident about 2012 regardless of market conditions, competition and rumors of less spending in the UK marketplace. Like all smart business owners we plan well ahead.

Directors Drew Mitchell and Gordon Kaylor say they are planning a big year. They’re gunning for another record financial year which commences on the 1st February.

The launch of Safety Training Courses Australia Pty Ltd will have a big impact on our training business. We are now an international health and safety training provider. This is having a great impact on the way we’re perceived in the UK and international marketplace.

An Update On STCA > Safety Training Courses Australia Pty Ltd

We have finished the website and it is being launched as this blog post is being written. What’s even more impressive is that Drew Mitchell is already on the verge of securing a major international supplier contract in Australia. The organization operate in countries all over the world selling thousands of safety based courses. If we come to an agreement with the supplier in the next couple of weeks our Australian venture will begin with a bang.. watch this space!

First Aid – You Could Be The One To Save A Life

Depending on the type of environment you have at your workplace, it may be imperative for all the employees to undergo first aid course training. These first aid courses can actually save lives. The more employees who have this training the better off your work place will be. There should be trained individuals who will be able to assist if someone is injured or becomes ill. They will know what to do in case of an emergency. Whatever the cost it will be worth every penny.

A first aid course is more than just putting on a band-aid. The first aid courses include Appointed Person which is the minimum level and is for low-risk environments or as a substitute in the absence of the qualified First Aid person; the 3-Day FAW or First Aid at Work is to get the employees up to date on the standard that is required; FAW Refresher or First Aid at Work Refresher is a pre-requisite to renew a FAW certificate.

A great first aid course you can become knowledgeable in is the Save a Life Automated External Defibrillator (AED), which is defib training and will include, but not limited to personal safety, assessing the incident, priorities, unconscious casualty, resuscitation on adults and much more. There are also first aid courses for child-care givers. The course entails foreign objects, electric shock, dealing with blood loss and shock, burns, scalds, and a lot more. Until help arrives, the victims have a fighting chance if someone knows what they are doing.

If your business or company has decided that qualified first aid courses are needed in the workplace, then there will have to be a first aid course that will allow the students to become fully qualified and earn a valid certificate of competence and will allow the first aid person to give emergency aid to someone who becomes sick or injured at work, they will be taken care of.

NEBOSH Certificate – General & Construction Safety

There are millions of people that work in the construction field every day and many of them have no idea how potentially dangerous their work place actually is. There is good money to be made in construction but it is also a very dangerous line of work. The general NEBOSH certificate is ideal for people that work in health and safety every day. It is given for completing a very important health and safety course. This course gives people a safety foundation that they really could never gain on their own.

Decision making is one of the most important parts of being effective in construction. Time is money for most construction workers and that is why accidents happen. With the NEBOSH construction certificate training program behind them construction workers have a better understanding of safety and they also know what hazards to watch out for. When constructions supervisors take these courses they can then pass their knowledge to their workers so that they can keep them safe. There are three different units that are part of the NEBOSH construction course and each unit is important.

The first part of the NEBOSH construction certificate safety program deals with teaching risk assessment, health and safety foundations, how to promote a positive health and safety environment and also teaches supervisors how to deal with accidents appropriately. The second unit of the nebosh training has to do with how to manage and control hazards in the work place. There is potential hazardous equipment and materials that most construction specialists work with daily and they should be aware of them. The final unit has to do with implementing the safety and health practices that they learn.

Each unit that is involved in attaining the NEBOSH certificate is important. They each teach health and safety practices that could prevent accidents from happening and that could make the work place a better environment. Construction is dangerous, but by learning about possible hazards construction workers are much more equipped to do their jobs. The NEBOSH construction certificate training that is available is top of the line and perfect for supervisors and managers. Health and training courses aren’t very expensive and the knowledge that is attained is really priceless. If you have a construction businesses then look into the NEBOSH program.
