You are required to attend all five days of the SMSTS training in Lincoln in order to be awarded the qualification. At the end of the training you'll be required to sit a final examination, passing the exam will mean you qualify for the certificate which is then valid for five years.

Will I Be Issued With a SMSTS Card or a Certificate?

Upon successful completion of the course the CITB will not issue a SMSTS card, however an official CITB accredited certificate will be provided within 6 - 8 weeks. It must be stressed to all course attendees the need to attend all sessions since without full attendance the examining body will not award the CITB SMSTS certificate.

If I Pass the Course Can I Apply for Site Manager Jobs?

The SMSTS is a sought after qualification by employers operating within construction. Many construction jobs and positions of responsibility now ask for the nationally recognised certificate. SMSTS jobs in Lincoln and other towns and cities which require this qualification and certification include Construction Site Managers, Groundworks Manager, Site Agents, Assistant Site Manager, Section Engineers and project Managers.

CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme Refresher

After the five years it is necessary to return for a two day SMSTS Refresher course to make sure you are still up to date with the latest H&S regulations. We have refresher courses available in Lincoln and other major towns and cities. By passing and maintaining your training you are able to prove that you are complying with the demands and laws regarding construction health and safety. In the event your current SMSTS certificate has expired you must attend the full five day course again.
