Fire Watchperson Training in Canning Town, London

Why take this course?

The Fire Watchperson course qualifies individuals to safely carry out fire safety duties on London Underground infrastructure.

It ensures participants understand hot work practices, fire prevention measures, and how to respond effectively in the event of a fire, all while complying with LU rules and legislation.

On successful completion, delegates receive a track certificate with the Fire Watchperson endorsement, valid for two years.

What does the training involve?

This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to:

  • Understand the duties and responsibilities of a Fire Watchperson
  • Apply safe hot working practices and permit procedures
  • Recognise how heat and fire spread
  • Identify different classes of fire and their associated risks
  • Correctly use fire extinguishers and fire blankets

Requirements before attending:

  • A valid Sentinel card with LU-WSSI induction

What to bring:

  • No PPE is required
  • If you already hold track certificates, bring them so competencies can be consolidated into one updated certificate

Assessment:

  • Written theory test with an 80% pass mark

Certification:

  • Track certificate endorsed with Fire Watchperson (valid for 2 years)
  • No other competencies are updated as part of this training

How is this delivered?

The course is delivered as a 3.5-hour session, available during the day or at night.
