Site Person in Charge (SPC) Refresher Training for London Underground Worksites

The Site Person in Charge (SPC) Refresher course is designed for existing SPC-qualified professionals who need to renew their competency to continue managing worksites safely on London Underground infrastructure.
This renewal programme reinforces the knowledge and skills required to plan, document, and supervise safe working practices in accordance with current legislation and LU rules. It ensures delegates remain up to date with safety processes, documentation standards, and worksite coordination procedures.
On successful completion, delegates receive an updated SPC endorsement on their Sentinel track certificate, valid for a further two years.

- Refresh knowledge on planning and managing worksites safely on LU infrastructure
- Apply updated documentation processes, including permits, licences, and sign-in procedures
- Strengthen coordination skills alongside safety-critical staff

- Complete a written theory assessment (refresher is theory only)
Requirements before attending
- A valid Sentinel card showing LU-WSSI induction
- A valid LU medical assessment (BTA level or higher, valid for 5 years)
- A valid track certification with in-date Basic Track Awareness (BTA)
- An in-date SPC certificate or one expired within the last 14 days

How is the SPC Refresher Delivered?
The SPC Refresher is delivered as a focused one-day theory course, available during the day or night.
The session includes:
- Structured review of SPC responsibilities and LU worksite requirements
- Updated documentation and compliance processes
- Guidance on briefing delivery and staff oversight
- A written theory test to confirm ongoing competency (80% pass mark)
Upon successful completion, the SPC endorsement is renewed on the delegate’s Sentinel track certificate and remains valid for two years.
