The course is made up of two units:
- Principles of the Intermediate Fire Risk Assessment
- Practice of the Intermediate Fire Risk Assessment
We have tried to make this as uncomplicated as possible by collecting evidence through a range of methods, including submission of real work completed during your day-to-day job, a professional discussion with your assessor to back up your knowledge, and an observation at your workplace. You will be working with an experienced human assessor (not online platforms or admin staff) who will be there to support you, motivate you, and guide you every step of the way until you succeed.
As part of your assessment, an observation will need to be held in at least one of the workplace activities listed below:
- Understanding how to develop own and other’s knowledge of fire risk assessment
- Conduct a fire risk assessment of an intermediate risk building
- Communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders while carrying out a fire risk assessment of an
- intermediate risk building
- Demonstrate appropriate and professional behaviour
This will be carried out either by your assessor or a designated observer.
The cost includes registration, your workbook, assessment, and certification. If you would like to be supported with a site visit from your assessor to carry out your observation, this can be added on for an additional fee. Our prices are all-inclusive, covering everything you need, meaning there are no hidden charges or surprise costs to you or your employer.
You can start at any time. Once you have signed up and we have received your completed registration form you will be issued a work pack via email. Your assessor will then book an induction with you. On your initial contact/induction with your assessor, they will explain evidence gathering and how to understand our workbook and filing systems.
