Defib Training
First Aid at Work courses do not cover the use of defibrillators. If you decide to provide a defibrillator in your workplace, it is important that those who may use it are appropriately trained. the HSE does not specify the content of this training and organisations providing it do not need HSE approval. Information on Defib training is available from the Resuscitation Council (UK) .
If you are investing in a defibrillator, you want to be sure your staff receive the best training available. Our suppliers provide outstanding Defib training using experienced first aid and defibrillator trainers.
To ensure the suitability of a candidate for a Defib training course we recommend all attendees be current HSE First Aid at Work qualified or have similar experience. Every student will have to pass a multiple choice written assessment and a practical assessment to receive their Defib certificate.
Defib training certificates are valid for 12 months, however the UK Resuscitation Council recommends training takes place more frequently than this (i.e. every 6 months)
