What is the IOSH Working Safely Course?

This classroom IOSH Working Safely course and IOSH Working safely online are a basic introductory health and safety qualification, which will enable workers to ensure that their individual and collective actions contribute to safety in the workplace and that they understand their responsibilities. This nationally recognised qualification is 1-day in duration and is for all levels of personnel.

IOSH Working Safely Course Content

The in-person (classroom) and IOSH Working Safely online courses both cover the same content:

  • Identify the hazards and evaluate risks in the workplace
  • Use appropriate workplace precautions for specific risks or seek advice on workplace precautions
  • Assist managers in preparing written risk assessments
  • Follow their organisation’s health and safety policy
  • Co-operate and communicate on health and safety matters
  • Carry out work activities without risk to themselves or others
  • Report relevant accidents and incidents, monitor their own activities, and assist managers in active monitoring.

What’s Different About IOSH Working Safely E-learning?

  1. A period of 6 months is allowed for completion – this in not extendable.
  2. You will be provided with access to a learning management system (LMS) and you can study online at your own pace.
  3. Complimenting this e-learning course is a Learners Task Book. The book is downloadable from the LMS and contains activities designed to transfer learning to the real life workplace.
  4. A live instructor will not be present.

  1. Course duration (6 – 8 hours to complete).
  2. Course aims and objectives.
  3. IOSH certification.

Minimum PC Requirements

  • Internet Explorer v6 and Flash v8 or higher
  • It is also necessary to remove the Google toolbar
  • Compatible with MAC computers.

Please note: for all e-learning courses we are required to setup user accounts and login details. E-learning courses can only be processed and accessed the same day if purchased during normal working hours which are Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm. E-learning courses purchased on a weekend will be processed on the following Monday morning.
