The CABWI New Roads and Street Works for Supervisors course is suitable for those who are already employed in the highways maintenance and utilities sector who monitor the work of operatives.

Course Content

LA – Location and avoidance of underground apparatus
S1 – Monitoring, signing, lighting and guarding
S2 – Monitoring excavation in the highway
S3 – Monitoring reinstatement and compaction of backfill material
S4 – Monitoring reinstatement of cold-lay bituminous materials
S5 – Monitoring reinstatement of hot-lay bituminous materials
S7 – Monitoring reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete footways

Additional Units

S6 – Monitoring reinstatement of concrete slabs

Certification and Assessment

Delegates will be required to take theory based assessments along with a practical assessment which will involve being observed on the job. On passing the supervisor course, delegates will be issued with a Street Works Qualification Register (SWQR) card.
