What is the EUSR SHEA Power Card?

The EUSR SHEA Power card is a 1 day Safety Health and Environment Awareness (SHEA) Power Safety Passport. The Utility Safety Health and Environment Awareness (SHEA) portfolio of schemes have been developed in conjunction with industry to provide a uniform approach to health, safety and environmental awareness training across the utilities sector, in line with Health and Safety Executive guidelines.

Who is the EUSR SHEA Power Course Suitable For?

The power scheme is designed for all persons involved in the operational activities of the electricity transmission and distribution industries who require access to sites, both permanent and temporary, including all levels of operatives, supervisors and management.

What’s Included in the EUSR SHEA Power Course?

Utility SHEA (Power) comprises of ten modules:

The eight core modules are common to all utility industries. They form the basis of health, safety and environmental law and practices. There are two additional modules that are specific to the power industry which cover power generation and distribution and specific hazards to the power industry. It is designed to provide on-site evidence that an individual has demonstrated an appropriate level of knowledge and awareness. It is a passport scheme and does not indicate any level of technical competence or skilled expertise.

How do I get an EUSR SHEA Power Card?

Registration is based on successful completion of a training course. Upon successful completion, a cover note will be issued by the trainer and trainees will be registered on the EUSR. Once the necessary paperwork and payment have been received the EUSR SHEA Power card will be issued within 28 days.

Certification & Assessment

This course comprises of a trainer lead presentation, a health screening aspect and a multiple choice test. You will be called upon to share your experiences and thoughts throughout to build on the course material and to identify cases of good and bad practice. Once the SHEA Power course has been completed you will receive a EUSR SHEA Power card.

Requirements to Attend the Course

A good level of written and spoken English is required to successfully complete this course.

When Does the Qualification Expire?

The EUSR SHEA Power card is valid for 3 years from the date of training. After which the course will require renewal by anyone still working within the industry.

What is the Online EUSR SHEA Power Card?

The EUSR SHEA Power card course is available online. This online course is rolled out using Zoom or similar software options to achieve virtual classroom environment. To attend the online version of the course you must have access to a computer, laptop, tablet or phone that uses a microphone and webcam. All paperwork, instructions and log in details for the course are sent provided prior.
