NEBOSH Investigation Course

NEBOSH and Great Britain’s Health and Safety Regulator, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), have jointly developed a new one day NEBOSH Investigation course and qualification that shows how non-complex incidents can be investigated effectively. By learning lessons and making improvements, organisations can avoid similar incidents occurring in the future.

Who is the NEBOSH Accident Investigation Course For?

This NEBOSH Accident Investigation qualification is for anyone who wants to carry out incident investigations effectively.

Employers, supervisors, SHE champions, union and safety representatives will benefit. Attending the course will enable you to:

  • Gather evidence including conducting witness interviews
  • Produce an action plan to prevent a recurrence of an incident

How is the Qualification Assessed?

A practical assessment is completed at the end of the course. You will be provided with a pack of evidence and shown a video of three witness interviews. You will be asked to review the evidence, evaluate each interview and produce an action plan that will help prevent a recurrence of an incident.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this qualification, however it is recommended that learners should already have an underpinning knowledge of health and safety issues, and many will have gained another NEBOSH qualification.

It is also important that learners have a suitable standard of English language in order to understand and articulate the concepts contained in the syllabus.

NEBOSH recommends that learners undertaking this qualification should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 or higher in IELTS tests.

NEBOSH Investigation E-learning Course

Due to extraordinary circumstances impacting the regular provision of health and safety training the NEBOSH Investigation course can now be studied in e-learning format. This NEBOSH Accident Investigation course involves studying online at work or at home using a reliable internet connection and a laptop/computer or other modern handheld device.

It is permitted to deliver the NEBOSH Investigation course via e-learning. The e-learning follows the same curriculum as the traditional classroom version of the course and delivers the same standard of training meeting all examination body rules.
