This classroom based UKATA Asbestos Awareness Refresher course will refresh and update delegates’ knowledge on working safely with asbestos, as well as ensuring theirs and their colleagues’ safety.

Who is the UKATA Asbestos Awareness Refresher Course Suitable For?

This course is suitable for those who have previously attended the UKATA Asbestos Awareness course, in accordance with The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 Approved Code of Practice – “Refresher training should be given regularly.”

To achieve a UKATA Asbestos Awareness Refresher certificate, delegates must provide evidence of attending a UKATA Asbestos Awareness course within 12-18 months and satisfy the requirements of the Training Needs Analysis (TNA). A skills analysis will be undertaken at the start of the course to confirm delegates have retained information from the Asbestos Awareness course and ensure refresher training is sufficient.

Asbestos is one of the biggest occupational health issues and kills around 5000 workers each year, which is more than those who die through road traffic accidents in the UK. However, asbestos is not just a problem of the past. It can be present today in any building built or refurbished before the year 2000.
