Prerequisites for the SSSTS Course

To attend, you must:

  • Have a good understanding of written and spoken English (translators not permitted)
  • Provide photographic ID (passport or driving licence)
  • Provide written parental consent if under 18

Failure to meet these requirements may result in exclusion from the course.

Course Duration

The SSSTS course runs for 2 days.

Assessment and Certification

You’ll complete a multiple-choice exam, participate in class discussions, and complete a short case study. If you do not pass the exam, a re-sit is available within 90 days (additional fee applies).

Upon successful completion, you will receive a CITB SSSTS certificate valid for 5 years.

No prior learning is required to attend the SSSTS course, although the 1-day CITB Health and Safety Awareness course is a helpful foundation. After completion, you may progress to the 5-day SMSTS course or pursue a Construction NVQ, such as the NVQ Level 4 in Construction Site Supervision.
